What is IPT's mission?
Insight Percussion Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity aimed at helping the youth of the area gain experience, knowledge, and a chance to perform and compete among the best groups in the world.

What is IPT?

We are an official WGI Independent Open Drumline recently formed to compete locally, and at WGI Regionals, and World Championships in the Spring of 2010.

I live out of town, do I have to rent out a hotel for every rehearsal?
You are allowed, but no you will be allowed to sleep at the gym. Which has showers and all other needs or choose to sleep at one of your generous fellow members house that live in the area.

Who can be a member of IPT? Is there an age limit?
Anyone who wishes to audition and be a part of a competitive indoor percussion unit can participate but you must be under the age of 23 by March 31st, 2010.

Can a high school student join?
Yes, but if your school has an Indoor Drumline, you will need permission from your director in order to participate. Your school performance unit takes priority over IPT.

When and where are auditions and rehearsals?
We are planning to rehearse at Acadiana High School

Who is the Director?
Jeremy Webb, who will be assisted by Scott Domingue, Jeff Hebert, Jason Cavallero, and others. For more information view the staff page.

How much will it cost to participate in IPT?
We estimate the membership dues to be $500. People that live over 75 miles from Lafayette will only be charged $400 to compensate for travel cost. This will include transportation for those who need it, and hotels in Dayton, Ohio. All other expenses such as insurance are included.

Can I bring my cost down? How?
If you get sponsors to give the ensemble $500, your fee is $250. If you get sponsors to give the ensemble $1000, you owe nothing.

Will there be fundraising opportunities?
Yes, we will host fundraisers to bring the membership fee down below $500.

What equipment will we perform with?
Dynasty snares and tenors, basses, and Dynasty marimbas and vibes

How many members will be selected at auditions?

  • Snares – 7
  • Tenors – 4
  • Basses – 5
  • Cymbals – 5
  • The following are minimum numbers:
  • Marimba - 3
  • Vibes - 2
  • Xylophone - 1
  • Bells - 1
  • Percussion - 2
  • Drumset - 1
  • Synthesizer - 1
  • Bass guitar - 1

    I don’t think I’m good enough, should I audition?
    YES! Let us be the judge of that, we will teach you how to do everything we do and how we do it. If you have the desire to be a member, attend rehearsals, pay your dues, and we will work with you.

    Does it cost to audition? When are fees due?
    There will be a $50 fee to audition. A deposit of $250 for those selected will be due by the 1st rehearsal date.
